As the honorary consul of Zambia in Kolkata, Arjun De has catalysed better business and tourism ties with Bengal. Officials from the Zambia High Commission and the tourism department have met travel trade representatives from Kolkata a number of times, with the interface anchored by De. This has triggered interest in Zambia as a tourist destination, resulting in a steady flow of tourist traffic from Kolkata. Business outlook will also be boosted when a delegation from the Zambia Development Agency visits Kolkata in October. Zambia is seeking joint ventures in the domains of Agriculture, Manufacturing, Tourism, Health, Construction, ICT, Pharmaceuticals, Trading, Mining and Energy.
